How much does it cost?+
It depends on what you want to learn, since you pick your own skills instead of paying for a whole program. I'm offering intro pricing to my first five students. Tell me what you're interested in and I'll send you the exact price.
Do I need any experience?+
Nope. I train people from zero, one-on-one, so we go at your pace. If you already have experience or run a shop, we'll skip what you know and focus on what you want to add.
What can I learn?+
You pick. Residential and commercial locksmithing, rekeying and master keying, key cutting and programming, safes, access control, domestic and European car keys, dealer software and diagnostics, micro-soldering and module repair, and performance tuning. Which one interests you most?
How long does it take?+
Days, not months. It depends on which skills you pick and how fast you want to go. Tell me what you're interested in and I'll give you a realistic timeline.
How do I get started?+
Just tell me what you want to learn and what days work for you, and I'll get you on the schedule. Training is one-on-one here in Colorado Springs, easy to reach from anywhere in El Paso or Teller County.

Do I need my own tools?+
No. Tools and materials are provided while you train. You learn on real equipment, so you'll know which tools are worth buying before you spend your own money.
What should I bring?+
Yourself. Wear something you don't mind getting dirty. It's shop work, not a seminar.
I'm coming from out of state. Can we make that work?+
Yes. 11 locksmiths from 11 different states have flown to Colorado Springs to train with me one-on-one. Tell me your travel dates and we'll plan the training days around your flights. You'll get the address when you book, so you can pick a hotel close by.
Can I do this around a full-time job?+
Tell me which days you can get off and we'll plan around them. It's one-on-one, so the schedule is built around you.
What will I be able to do afterward?+
The work you trained on, with the basics solid and someone having watched you do it. You'll also know which jobs to take and which to turn down until you have more experience. That one matters more than people expect: the fastest way to hurt a new locksmith's reputation is taking a job past your ability.
Do I need a license to work as a locksmith?+
Requirements vary by state and sometimes by city. Some places require one and some don't, so it's worth checking what applies where you'll be working.
